Pass 1: Topic-Wise, During Your First Reading
As soon as you complete a topic (say, cache mapping or LR parsing), attempt every PYQ on that topic from 2014–2026 before moving on. Do not look at the solution until you have committed to an answer and written down your reasoning. This pass tests understanding while the concept is fresh and exposes gaps immediately.
Pass 2: Subject-Wise, Timed
After finishing a whole subject, attempt its PYQs in timed blocks. A useful budget is the exam's own ratio: 180 minutes for 100 marks, or roughly 1.8 minutes per mark. Record accuracy separately for MCQ, MSQ and NAT, because each rewards a different skill: elimination, completeness and precise calculation.
Pass 3: Full-Paper Simulation
In the final 4–6 weeks, take complete official papers under exam conditions: 3 hours, one sitting, and only an on-screen calculator. After every PYQ session, log each wrong or skipped question in one of four buckets:
- Concept gap: you did not know the idea. Fix it by returning to your primary textbook for that topic.
- Application error: you knew the idea but set the problem up wrongly. Fix it by re-solving 3–5 similar PYQs.
- Calculation or reading error: a slip in arithmetic, units or a missed "NOT" in the question. Fix it with a personal checklist you apply before submitting.
- Time error: you could have solved it, but not in time. Fix it with timed subject blocks.
